The Westcott FJ250 250Ws Touchscreen Strobe Backpack Kits deliver professional power, speed, and flexibility in a highly portable lighting system designed for photographers who work in the studio or on location. Available in 1-Light or 2-Light configurations, and with Universal (multi-brand) or Sony-dedicated wireless trigger options, these kits provide everything needed for a reliable, travel-ready off-camera flash solution.
Capture Every Moment with Portable 250Ws Power
At the core of each kit is the Westcott FJ250 portable strobe, engineered for extended shoots, fast recycle times, and motion-freezing clarity. Each FJ250 delivers 250Ws of output with a 9-stop power range (0.98–250Ws) adjustable in precise 0.1 or 1.0 increments. Powered by a removable FJ Pro AC/DC lithium-ion battery, each strobe provides up to 850 full-power flashes per charge—the highest in its class—plus thousands of lower-power flashes, with a recharge time of approximately 1.5 hours.
Ultra-fast performance includes flash durations as short as 1/29,600 sec (t0.5) in freeze sync mode, support for high-speed sync up to 1/8000 sec, front and rear curtain sync, and TTL flash control (trigger-dependent). Flash exposure compensation of ±3 stops allows for precise, repeatable lighting adjustments.
Intuitive Touchscreen & Effortless Workflow
The FJ250 features a full-color OLED touchscreen with an integrated help guide, making setup and operation fast and intuitive for photographers of all experience levels. User-requested enhancements—such as group indicator color lighting and shared AC/DC battery compatibility with the FJ400 II and FJ800—streamline workflows and reduce the need for multiple power systems.
Creative Mask Mode for Dynamic Lighting
In addition to Manual and TTL modes, the FJ250 includes Westcott Creative Mask Mode, allowing photographers to create up to six unique lighting combinations without moving lights. Control when each strobe fires in sequence to capture multiple creative looks from a single setup—ideal for portraits, fashion, commercial, and high-volume shoots.
Universal or Sony Wireless Fitment
Both kits integrate into Westcott’s 2.4 GHz FJ wireless system, featuring 31 channels, 16 groups, and a wireless range of up to 328 ft for interference-free control.
Universal Kit Option: Includes the FJ-X3 M Universal Trigger, compatible with most major camera brands including Canon, Nikon, FUJIFILM, Panasonic Lumix, and Olympus.
Sony Kit Option: Includes the FJ-X3 S Trigger for Sony, featuring a proprietary Sony hot shoe for seamless communication with Sony mirrorless cameras.

Kits include Rapid Box Switch inserts for fast attachment of compatible softboxes and modifiers.
