A constant f/3.5 aperture keeps exposure steady through the zoom range, while a 5.9" minimum focus distance and 0.22x magnification let you push in close for exaggerated, foreground-heavy compositions. The 16-element, 13-group optical design uses three aspherical, four ED, and one ED aspherical element to hold resolution high and keep chromatic and spherical aberration in check, and the 7-blade circular aperture renders out-of-focus highlights smoothly.
