Come join us in this 2 night workshop to learn the art of portrait lighting. 

Session 1: Lecture

Thursday May 9th 5:30-7:00pm

In this session, we will discuss portrait lighting techniques and styles. Learn to  harness, shape and control your light to create visually pleasing images.

Session 2: Hands-on Photo Shoot

Thursday May 16th 5:30-7pm

In this session, you will get to put the skills you learned in the first session to use! We will have a model present, and lighting will be provided.

Capture stunning sports and action shots of the athletes in your life. This class will show you how to stop the action. Learn what camera settings will work best, choose the best vantage points, edit your photos for presentation, and find out what equipment will help you get the shot!

Session 1: Birding Photo Class at Art's

Tuesday, June 4th, 5-7pm: Join us in store for a 2 hour lecture to learn camera techniques, settings, and equipment used to take impressive photos of wild birds. Bird photography can be quite challenging due to fast, unpredictable movements, difficult lighting situations, and branches in the way. This class will cover how to conquer these issues and capture beautiful photos of our winged friends.

Session 2: Private Guided Photography Tour at Horicon Marsh

Tuesday, June 11th, 8:30-10am: Enjoy a private guided tour with a birding expert at Horicon Marsh, along with Art's expert staff to help you along the way. Loaner gear will be provided *upon request. Refreshments will also be provided! The hike will be around a mile long, and may include unpaved paths. Guests will also be invited to visit the Explorium to learn more about the history of this beautiful marsh.

Session 3: Show & Tell Session at Art's

Tuesday, June 18th, 5-7pm: Bring your favorite photos back to the store for a Show & Tell session. Share your photos with the class, and get feedback on your photos from the tour, and receive a FREE 13x19 print of your best shot ($25 value)!

This class will help you capture and create memories from your travels. We'll help you develop an eye for great composition which can turn a good snapshot into a fantastic image. You'll learn how to adjust exposure settings for different effects, how to capture landscapes, scenery, architecture and "the locals" who make your trip memorable.

Do you have a photo you’re really proud of and want to share it with the world? Well, here’s your chance! This session's theme is FLOWERS. Share your favorite flower photo, tell us how you got the shot, and get inspired by other photographer’s work. An audience and feedback are important tools for a photographer to sharpen their skills and learn new techniques. Registration for this class includes a FREE 13x19 print of the photo you submit, printed during class! (A $25 value!) Upon registering, you will receive instructions on how to submit your photos.

Fireworks can be tricky to photograph! This class will walk you through basic settings for firework photography. You will learn helpful tips and tricks to get the best results, along with which accessories will make getting the best photos easy!
